Sakura and Gelston: September 11, 2010

I’m so excited to finally share this wedding with you! This past year, I had the pleasure of helping Sakura and Gelston plan and design their entire wedding. After months and months of planning, every detail of their wedding became so personal to me. The lovely couple envisioned an elegant, traditional and intimate wedding with their closest family and friends. We chose the magnificent Kohl Mansion in Burlingame as their backdrop and incorporated a palette of blush pink, soft violet and cream to set the tone for a romantic evening. Sakura means cherry blossom in Japanese and we scattered this motif throughout their decor. The guests danced through the night to a live jazz band that resembled the Ella Fitzgerald era. The highlight was a surprise by Sakura’s mom who performed a Japanese dance for the couple in a stunning traditional attire. The day was absolutely perfect and I couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful couple to celebrate it with! Congratulations or in Japanese, Omedetou, you love birds!

Leaf Your Thumbprint

Love, love, love this idea! This is a great variation of the standard guest book. Instead of having guests just write their names in a book, have them instead “leaf” their thumbprint on this beautiful tree. Hang up it up with a lovely frame and remember all your guests every time pass it by.  Visit LovliDay on Etsy to find the right tree size for your wedding.
