Nordstrom Wedding Boutique

After the company’s 109-year long history, Nordstrom is finally stepping into the wedding business. This past month, Nordstrom unveiled their in-store bridal boutique featuring bridal gowns, accessories, shoes, bridesmaids dresses and more! There are 14 wedding shops nationwide, 2 of which are in our own backyard in San Jose and San Francisco. The suites boast of all the elegance of the top wedding boutiques with their marble floors, plush chairs and large changing rooms but not the hefty price tags. You can find a beautiful, elegant gown for about $200 or breathtaking jewelry for under $100. That’s like hitting the jackpot! Check out your local Nordstrom Wedding Suite.

Sakura and Gelston: September 11, 2010

December 17th, 2010 by Karen Pan | Comment

I’m so excited to finally share this wedding with you! This past year, I had the pleasure of helping Sakura and Gelston plan and design their entire wedding. After months and months of planning, every detail of their wedding became so personal to me. The lovely couple envisioned an elegant, traditional and intimate wedding with their closest family and friends. We chose the magnificent Kohl Mansion in Burlingame as their backdrop and incorporated a palette of blush pink, soft violet and cream to set the tone for a romantic evening. Sakura means cherry blossom in Japanese and we scattered this motif throughout their decor. The guests danced through the night to a live jazz band that resembled the Ella Fitzgerald era. The highlight was a surprise by Sakura’s mom who performed a Japanese dance for the couple in a stunning traditional attire. The day was absolutely perfect and I couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful couple to celebrate it with! Congratulations or in Japanese, Omedetou, you love birds!

Leaf Your Thumbprint

Love, love, love this idea! This is a great variation of the standard guest book. Instead of having guests just write their names in a book, have them instead “leaf” their thumbprint on this beautiful tree. Hang up it up with a lovely frame and remember all your guests every time pass it by.  Visit LovliDay on Etsy to find the right tree size for your wedding.
