In this season of thanksgiving, we thought what better topic than honoring family members at your wedding. Weddings are a great time to honor those closest to you, either a special family member that will be attending the wedding or someone that you have lost. We’ve seen brides walk down the aisle to a symbolic song to play tribute to that person. Or you might have a special piece of fabric that your mother or grandmother wore on her wedding day that you can sew it into your own gown or attach to your bouquet. We’ve also seen couples light a candle or dedicate flowers to those who couldn’t be present. Whatever it may be, it might not be known by others but it will be close to your heart on that special day and that’s all that matters.
Can you think of a more stunning way to make an entrance? After walking down the aisle, guests get a glimpse of your back in most gorgeous way possible with the sparkling and decadent beading on these amazing dresses. Paired with a simple up-do and accessories, all eyes will be on you!
There are so many times when I am sitting across the table at a tasting and I see the look of sheer confusion in the eyes of my Groom not knowing which fork to pick up. Of course most of us will never set the table at our receptions, but it’s important to know the difference between the informal and formal place settings for your big day. Your table setting should continue to reflect your wedding theme and formality to ensure a consistent and beautiful day. Here’s a great diagram to refer to:
No matter which direction you go towards, you can always get creative in the styling and presentations of each item. However in both settings, cloth napkins are a must because they look so much more elegant than paper and can be folded in many ways to dress up the appearance of the table. For formal settings, napkins can either be placed on the center plate or left of the forks. Glasses should always go to the right of the plates and the bread plate towards the left. And chargers or base plates can also add formal elegance to your table setting. Hope that clears up some of the confusion and minimizes the swapping of utensils. Happy planning!
Shelley and Eric are two of the most stunning people I’ve ever met, both inside and out. They are easy going, incredibly humble and caring and it’s no wonder why they fell in love with each other. The couple envisioned a simple, classic elegance for their wedding that highlighted their faith and appreciation for their family and friends. Their wedding day was like it came straight out of a storybook full of romance, intimacy and heartfelt love for all who came. And it couldn’t have been a more perfect day for a more perfect couple! Congratulations love birds!
Four years of marriage flew by with a blink of an eye and it feels just like yesterday when Andy and I exchanged our vows. As a wedding planner I get the honor of celebrating one of the most special day in a couple’s life. But I often like to remind couples that it is marriage and spending every day with your best friend that makes it all worth it. Happy anniversary love!
